Hi,
I already have one dish (only 61.5) installed in my house and working ok. I have to give, one connection to my basement. I don't know if same LNB will work for both receivers or not.
I am looking for a person who could do this installation for my on reasonable cost. I am willing to complete this installation on this weekend. Please email me if you are interested.
Nearest intersection from my house is McCawon/Dennison
Regards
I am no Expert in this - but I think you don't any other LNB or Dish ... you just need one more receiver for that other TV.
Get a Splitter (1In-2 Out) from Buck or Two kind of store & connect your both receivers. Setup new receiver as first one and you are good to go.

If I understand correctly, you just need an additional connection in your basement, from the same dish.
1. Pull the LNB from the dish and check if it has 2 connectors, if so, then it's a dual LNB and you're fine. All U need to do is connect a 2nd cable from there going into your basement. U will need a 2nd receiver.
2. If the LNB is not a dual LNB, you have 2 choices, - (a) Buy a dual LNB and replace it, OR (b) get a 3x4 (three by four) switch. Feed the output from the dish into this switch, and take out 2 outputs going to 2 different receivers. You will still need a 2nd receiver. The 3x4 switch costs around $20
Manaraj, A dollorama splitter will not work in this case, you'd need a 3x4 switch and that's around $20 or so.

Hi SS,
I am delighted to know that you always have lot of knowledge / info on this.
I always however wonder how the cable companies in India setup thier services. All they have is 1 set of dish and receiver and amplifier and then a network (web) of cable / splitter connections to all the subsribers. Every subsricber can view every channel independently with just 1 receiver/amplifier at the base location. Cant this be applied to multiple sets within the house? Do you have any idea - how to go about doing this??
Thanx in advance.
Hiren

if u only have 61.5 then u do not need any switch.
just make sure u have DUAL LNB...and just run one more rg6 cable from the other out put.
u need two receivers...one for basement and one more upstairs.
i saw 25' rg6 cable at dolarama, try and see if that wrk.

I think when you say 'dual LNB' you meant 'dual output LNB'.
The twin Output LNB provides two outputs to feed two separate receivers for independent working. I mean, its single LNB but with two Output.
