I got my request for Passports yesterday. Never thought this day would finally come. After more than two years of waiting and watching my mailbox, it seems unreal. I want to thank everybody in this forum for helping me keep the faith. My best wishes to those still waiting.

Online Status changed to Decision Made - Last week of August 2003
Passport Request Letter recieved - Jan 31st 2004.

Hi,

I have been asked this question by a lot of people and my answer as always is "Simply because I am not able to get my employer to sponsor my GC for the US.". I have lived here for a long time, infact have finished most of my education here. To go back to India after all these years, simply because my Visa expired and I couldn't get PR status before that, is not an option for me. Canada may not have as many oppurtunities as USA does, but there I have a right to Permanent Residence and therefore O' Canada it is

Thank You. Following are the answers to your questions:

1) Which Visa post did you apply in?

Ans. I applied at Buffalo NY. My case was then transferred for an Interview to Los Angeles.

2)Did you send your IELTS on or before 31st March 2003

Ans. I wasn't required to send IELTS as I finished my education in the US.

3)When did you apply?

Ans. November 14th 2001

Hi guys,
I also live in US and applied for same reason as desi_tiger. I had interview in LA in November 2003, was asked to pay ROLF & submit PCC from India within 60 days. I sent on Jan 5th 2004, and got request for passport on Jan 12th. I have sent passport and am now waiting for stamping. So I guess time-line differes from case to case.
Also, any idea of how long they take to send back stamped passports?
