I am doing Masters At Carleton U,Ottawa.Just came from Pune,India in Fall 2007. Please could anyone tell me about the Indian grocery stores in and around that area.(Old Ottawa South)

You get most of what you want at Food Basics. But if there are specifics, then call any of these grocers before you run down to that place.

If you had looked into the Yellow Pages, you would have seen all of them. The list here is from their website. I am only providing you with a few of them. The rest you can see in that Book. Choose the one or two that are near Carleton.

Also see if they will delilver, if you can't make it.

shree fresh market will provide you fresh vegetables every thursday i guess. his prices r little cheaper thn vaishali. but from vaishali u can rent indian movies as well. vaishali n shree fresh market r in same block or u can say same strip mall. i prefer going to shree fresh market not only hez cheaper thn vaishali but also hez very nice person.
haven't tried any other store but India bazaar. not so impressed.

Sree smell like fish Market, people are not frndly either. All the veg what he has you can get from produce depot as well.

Vaishali has everything but may be costly fro someone.

India Bazar when opened it was cheaper than Vaishali.

Trie kanak In kanata 3-4 time expensive than Vaishali.

I notmally go to all store depending upon time and location I am.
