Hello!
Thanks to all CD member for their quality contributions.
I have received PR and have to 5 months to land.
I need some valuable suggestions from you all.
I applied under SKill category and my main computer skills are Visual Basic and ASP.
Now i have self learn web designing (Photoshop, Dreameaver and flash) and i am confident that i can make good websites. Also i have learn SAP BW and presently involved in project but my total experience under SAP is 3 months only.
So please guide me which job is suitable for me and what job search shall i start. what is scope of SAP BW and with 3 months exp. will i be getting job. or shall i look for web designing job ? i am confused please guide.
Someone told me that Indian exp. is not counted and only thing imp. is Canadian exp. and need to work from scratch Jr. level.
At the time of filing and interview i have opt for Toronto as it has lot of jobs and big city, now i came to know that Alberta is got lot of opportunities... so can i go to Edmonton not Toronto. Will there be any problem at port of entry ?
As Winters are near is that right time to come or wait ... ?
My wife is 10th class plus 1 year nursing diploma with 4 yrs exp. Is there any possibility of her getting job in nursing field ? or anyother field.
I will be real greatful to you if you please guide me.
Hello canadiandream,
welcome to CD.I am not yet in canada but have been around in CD for a while,so i would try helping you out a bit
1)Leaving Qubec region you can land anywhere in canada. But don't you think landing directly in toronto would raise less eye brows????
2)Many suggest winter is not a pleasant time to land.Atleast for indians as they are not accustomed to the fierce winters of canada. And the job market would also be dull(thatz what i heard)
3)As i told you,i am not yet in canada i would be able to give lil info regarding nursing.I tried checking for the info and i found the following link.
http://www.settlement.org/sys/apt_detail.asp?faq_id=4000567
Hey for more info you can register yourself at http://www.settlement.org/
Hope i could help you to some extent
All the very best
cheers
panna

It takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown.what would you prefer???
Sriramajayam!!!
Canadiandream21,
Unfortunately, based on you and your wife's experience(or lack of experience/education) it is going to be quite difficult to get anything(in your fields) in Canada without significant upgrades in your education etc.
Good luck.
