Hi,
I am working in Purchasing & inventory control, wanted to upgrade myself and am enquiring about the courses available.
I have heared about the CPP certification but am not very sure how much does it help to get a better job in future and to what extent is it helpful.
Would enrolling with Pmac and working towards the certification help us to get a better job?
If anybody doing the same course could guide me or do i have any other choice of courses in inventory & supply chain management.
Thanks for your guidance & support

CPP certification really helps you in getting interview calls, Rest all depends upon your experience & companies requiremnent. My observation is that wherever companies are asking for CPP or Pmac , salary range is above 50K in Ontario.
If u are already into inventory control & Purcahsing, u should definetely go for these certifications. Salaries in Alberta are 70K +for such professionals.
A certificate program in Supply chain mgmt from Humber college (8 mths) is also a gud option if u want to widen ur job prospects.
Best of luck
Why not try for CPIM or CSCP from APICS?

Hi guys
Thanks for your support,
Infact timon, thats what i wanna know is apics better than CPP???
Which one has more acceptability ?
if CD has any members who can share their experiences, we can learn and benefit from that.
As i saw more demand for enrollment with Pmac hence thought it would be more acceptable and recognised for canadian companies.
I'm just trying to get in touch with the Pmac cx support to get answers for these but couldnt get much info
Thanks

Hi JC
Thanks for the reply, its really helpful to get a positive response.
Are you also in the same feild or do you know anybody who is already doing/ has done a course in the same field.
Regards
Sukh
APICS CPIM is American designation where as PMAC CPP is Canadian. knowing the Canadian system it is better to get CPP. Some of the companies in Canada do not acknowledge APICS CPIM. At this point both APIC and PMAC are migrating to Supply Chain Management certification. APIC already have a program in place where as PMAC is in transition.
CPP or the new equivalent designation is a long procedure. If you have cleared couple of subjects which can be taken by correspondence is accepted by industries in Canada as CPP in progress. If you have not yet started please start with new PMAC program. IMO if you are going to work in Canada get thru the basic papers for PMAC certification and later proceed for your CPP on company expense. The final test is about one week residence program and one day case writting. You may visit the website http://www.pmac.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK for further information.
