I don't know of any hourly rates as such. The normal going rates which constitutes a package, consists of 10 road lessons, one road TEST and 25 periods of in class instructions. (Numbers of hours unknown).
If I am permitted to average, then about $25 or there abouts per hour.
From what I hear on this board, I would advice Desis to make a deal with a Driving School to provide them with an option and include a second Road Test, for an additioanl sum of $25, in case they needed it at a later date. Tell them that they will pay if needed. If they succeed in the first attempt it will be a bonus to them. If not, then they have a vehicle that they have driven and got used to and an assurance that they will have a vehicle for the second test. It is just a suggestion. {Some instructors will even provide you with additional lessons for free, see some of the truck driving schools}
Time and time again, I have asked the Desis who drove in India to get an INTERNATIOANL Driving Licence with a picture and now an AUTHENTICATION from their local RTO, in INDIA, as they are curently discussing this on website about it, which will not only permit them with few lucky friends across the oceans to practice here upon landing with rentals or with the help of Canadians with cars.
A sample of International Road signs, there are many more.
