With a wide variety of ready to eat desi food available - frozen or otherwise would like to know which one is better. I have tried few of Parampara's, but found it too tangy. Canned Asoka's also have a tangy flavor - may be because of preservatives.

Your thoughts/alternatives much appreciated.

We are not huge fan of Frozen food. If we have to buy then DEEP is the brand that we prefer.

The only ready made stuff we use are rotis, chappattis, naan, paneer, yoghurt, mithai and perhaps a couple of more items, o/w all else made from scratch. If you face challenges cooking, then buy from take-outs, though that food usually sucks.

Recently Longo's has come out with freshly made chappatis. The other day we had several people over for lunch and instead of making rotis at home we got 'em from Longos and heated them up at home. They even swell up while heating. They were a hit.
Note these are not refrigerated nor frozen but made on the spot. The Longo's I went to had even the industrial machine there making multiple chappatis at a time and they were coming out hot/hot! Several people (incl myself, above all myself!:) ) were there downing them as they were coming out.

And for $1.99 a packet of ten.

They come both in wheat and white flour variety. My choice is the wheat though some of our guests flashed on the flour ones as well.
And I have a stake in the biznz so go get them!(Jes' kiddin')

Pretty soon this is gonna be like England where you can get all sorts of Indian stuff all over. It's there already but not as ubiquitous as in London, I feel.

In all those words ... you forgot to put in the Location! Does all Longo's carry that? Which one are you talking about?

If you don't mind a li'l Canadian style Indian ready made food- try the PC ready made. I have the butter chicken and the korma and a few thai dishes at times and they , though not the best there is, are, as far as frozen food goes, not bad.

Check em out.

Aha, grag pas gaya!:)

Ray Lawson and Hurontario.
Can't say if all the Longo's offer them. This particular one said they had been doing this for a week now, so it's pretty new.
The same plaza has a scotiabank, a citifinancial office, a Magnotta wine outlet, the Brampton Guardian office. a Hakka and Indian rest...
