In the Guide to Sponsoring under the Family class, one of the eligibility conditions to be a sponso ris that one must not be a recepient of any form of social assistance.
Is the GST Credit payment considered a form of 'social assistance' from the perspective of sponsoring a family memeber?
For example, a single person living in Ontario making $30k would get a GST credit of around $82.5 quarterly, but would meet the income requirements to sponsor at least 2 persons.
Any information on this will be appreciated.
Thanks!
