Ever been to Baroda for Uttarayan? Nothing can ever replace those memories.
But I believe lately things have changed. Some sort of 'Chinese dora' has come in the market. That is killing the local 'manja' industry and bird injuries have increased.

Hi Iceberg,
Yeah, Chinese dora has come in the market. Ofcourse, the number of people using it is significantly less. But, yes, it is doing a lot of damage not only to birds but to humans also. Couple of people have died due to their throats getting slit by the thread. My cousin's husband had to have about 15 stitches since his throat got slit. He is lucky enough to be alive.
Apart from the fun of flying kits, one can dance to the music, eat chikki, undhiyu, and at the end of the day, burst crackers and fly "fanas".
Rgds.
Rajan.
