Chrysler has revamped its vehicle pricing to reflect the strong Canadian dollar. I did a quick and dirty comparison between US and the new Cdn prices. The Grand Caravan is offered at about $23400 CAD and the USD price on a comparable model is about $22500 USD. These are 2008 models.

In comparison, Nissan Quest is about $24000 USD and its Cdn counterpart is about $33000 CAD.

It would be nice to see other manufacturers follow suit.

Ya that's right!!!

I am thinking of buying a Dodge Grand Caravan. It's 299/month for lease with 299 as D.P.

I would love to have some reviews on Grand Caravan v/s Siena.

regards,

Vj.

Chrysler's vehicles are known for transmission problems. My Neon needed a rebuild at about 100K km and I used to have a Durango that pooped at around 65000 km.

Trans rebuild could set you back anywhere from $1000 to $3000 if it is not under warranty coverage.

Other than that, Grand Caravans are great vehicles with all fancy features.

Yes, 2008 Caravan features are fancy with Centre Table and Swing Seat.

IMHO, there is no comparision between a Sienna and a Dodge Caravan. A Sienna would beat a Caravan by miles....except for the face price. I would say a Sienna is even better in terms of price (better and quicker resale, value for money, less repairs / maintenance down the road etc.)

If I could afford the price tag, I would definitely go for a Sienna or an Odyssey. It pays back big time! and I am sure they will also have to adjust their prices sooner than later, it's all fundamentals of economics.

Well, you are right, but when leasing is the option and you are sure of using this car only for 2.5/3 years, then this comparison may not have a great impact on the consideration.

The deal is Grand Caravan 24F is available at 23,188+tax+freight+admin++ with a lease of 299/month and 299 down. Offcourse, when I went to the show room, I saw a different monthly figure becasue of the fine prints.

i am going again today to finalise. let's see..

Regards,

Vj.
