close bedroom doors when cooking. One step further..ensure closet doors are closed as well.

Secondly - light a candle (scented ie/ vanilla or other food related scent) while cooking. If that doesnt work..try this:

take a pona (dishtowel) and wet it thorougly. wring it so its not dripping and hang it nearby (ie/ a meter or so by the stove. This should absorb soem of the smells. it works to an extent.

Make sure your windows are open or have the exhaust on full. Its funny but we make tarka regularly .. but I dont have any problems unless I add garlic to the food.

Change your clothes just before leaving the house..AND THE BIGGEST THING OF ALL:

Dont wash your hair..and cook with wet hair..your' hair will smell like onions ..

Thank you..will try these tips. How about using a shower cap with dry /wet hair.
Do you know something about using vinegar...I don't know exactly it works.Anyone?

Its just common sense..
Boil, say half a cup of vinegar ( we buy the cheapest one) with say 5 cups of water, once it start boiling, keep the heat low..then after a few minutes...take it out and keep it in open air...till the water fully evaporates...

The vinegar : water method isn't very common and so is their proportion.
Thanks anyway.

It doesn't help when cooking fish and mutton. My kitchen sometimes smells like a butcher shop on the weekends.
