First time landing Location

Dears,
I am planning land to Canada (first time after getting immigrant visas) in April'2008. I have mentioned my landing location as Toronto. But now I want to land in Calgary.

Can I do it? Is my immegration process handled from Calgary airport?

Please advise.

Dear iamfromindia,

You are permitted to land anywhere at all in Canada. If your plane lands first in an airport other than the one that you were originally destined to go, (Lot of people landed anywhere that they permitted on the 9/11 in 2001) they will stamp and provide you with the date of entry stamp. Then, you can take a connecting flight to your choice of destination such as Calgary in Alberta.

Now you know that this is a free country.
