There are a limited number of mutual funds available in Canada e.g. Excel India Fund thru which one can invest in the indian stock market.

However, I am wondering if anyone has opened a brokerage account e.g. with ICICI, HDFC, or other to make investment in the indian mutual funds and what have been their experiences (customer service, costs, ease of transaction, etc)?

What other options are available for OCI who wish to invest directly in indian mutual funds and not thru ETF's/ishares?

I am surprise no one reply to this message , This is really interesting topic since many people wants to invest in indian market but not strong enough to understand the market.

If someone really professional will share experiance with us then would be very help full.

Please investor Pro's keep making profit from market but at least advise us too, show us the right path...

I am not a big fan of mutual funds, but one MF I invested in the indian market was DSP merryl lynch groowth fund and it gave me handsome returns. I have been investing in ETFs recently and the 2 Indian ETF I have invested are IIF & IFN trading in NYSE.
