Are you planning to drive non stop or with breaks in between? If you are targeting just Florida, I think flying there and renting a car will end up costing pretty much the same (Gas + food on the way + night stay) - or even cheaper, if you get some good deals + you will save 3-4 days in to-fro trips.

I drove upto Toronto from Raleigh, and it took 18 hrs. If you are following the major highways, it is just a drive. If you take the state highways, then it is a very scenic drive, but slower.

Sorry to digress here...905 your avatar is quite 'interesting' ..:D

BTW - Can you suggest the place we can get Airfare from Buffalo to Orlando I travelled last march to miami and the best I could manage was $325.00 (2-way) from YYZ, travelling on weekedays only. Could surely use this price...With all the airlines now charging fuel surcharge of approx. $120.00 on long haul flights, it may be even more expensive now..

If you are planning for Universal, talk to CAA. They have these package deals which comes very cost effective. (It will depend on ur travel nature too - For some one who normally opts for Holiday Inn etc., you will find it a good deal; But for some one who normally opts Days Inn, it is going to be an expensive package)

Try the following:

http://southwest.com/

http://travelocity.com/

http://www.expedia.com/default.asp?mcecid=ipsplash_ca

http://www.airtran.com/Home.aspx

http://www.smartertravel.com/airfare/search/

http://www.cheapflights.com/?source=intl-CFUS-flag-CA&xref=www.google.ca

http://www.orbitz.com/

You have to keep trying. Sometimes the airlines just release a whole bunch of tickets. And you have to act fast...else you loose out.
