Dear Sir,
My PR card is going to expire in Feb2009. I am in India and have not completed 2 yrs physical presence.Even if I move now I will not be able to accommodate 730days. How should I apply for reinstating my PR Status in Canada. I was in India for treatment of my spouse and for the reasons beyond my control. What should I do ? Pl help me???

Try to enter now and stay there for 2 years continuously.
Then try to apply for renewal. If you are lucky you may get it renewed.

Thanks for the mail. But rule says that it has to retain PR status:
If you have been a permanent resident for five years or more: you must have been physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days within the past five years:
Since I will not be able to make up 730days within the given 5ys i.e from 2004-2009 period, how will I show it.

You are correct, but now you have nothing to loose. Already you have lost. Give a try. Enter there and do not travel outside Canada for 2 years. Then apply for renewal. Many of our Desis now will say you are a fraud ,dont try to cheat etc .. etc.... Remember how much time and efforts you spend to get this PR. Nothing wrong to try to preserve it.
After 2 years of continuous stay you may get your PR card renewed.

Is it legal, will they not look at records where was I during the past 5yrs in that block period, even if I do not travel outside Canada for 2 yrs, do I have right to apply to renew the pR Card ? Can I work and live in Canada with expire PR Card ?
These issue bothers me. Or should I apply fresh application for Permanent Residency again with canadain Immigartion ?

Like the others have already mentioned. Why don't you try to enter first and then you can deal with the rest of the issues.

Thanks for the mail. Suppose I try to enter canada now without 730days for residency obligations in my hand but my PR Card expires on Feb 2009. My Question is will Canadian Immigation allow me to enter canada or they will deport me from Airport ?
