Hi,
We moved to Canada from USA in 2005, and that time I got G2 driving license, b’coz I had only 6 month of driving experience of USA. I gave one driving test last year, after completion of 2 yrs. of driving, but failed to get G license. Now we are again planning to move back to USA. My question is that will I get the full license there or I have to go again from first step(i.e. written test and then driving test)??

Your first mistake was to exchange your driver's license. I know couple of friends who were in same situation. They simply waited till they became eligible for a G license. Anyhow even if you have a G license, in US you still will have to take a written test in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and New York. New Jersey will simply exchange your Ontario license with theirs. If you have failed to get a G license then only place you can get a license in US would be Kansas. There they don't ask you for any reverse driving, no parallel parking, no highway driving etc. If you can't get a license in Kansas you can't get it anywhere in the US. You will need SSN card for the driver's license and if you have a temp visa other than B1(Visitor visa), you can't apply for a US driver's license. Validity of your license will be the expiry date on your visa. So once you apply for visa extension, you'll have to reapply for your driver's license. But if you have G license you can still drive in US without getting a US license. BTW US(individual states have different laws check with the DMV) does not retain your Canadian driver's license like Canada does.

As far as I know, in US, canadian G driving license can be exchanged with US license. But I don't know if G2 can be exchanged or not.
I don't have any problem in different types of parking, I failed the test, due to speeding. Truely saying, I don't want to go into these hassles again.
If anyone in this forum, has any idea on exchanging G2 license in Michigan, USA. Then please, impart your knowledge.
