Any one knows a good place to get glass fixed of a car, passenger side window ?
I was driving and a road side grass cleaner's small vehicle was working so a stone came and hit my car and glass broke. i am assuming I can not claim this from him and claiming frm insurance is not worth it. Toyota is asking $ 22 for glass and $ 196 to fix it.
Aashu,
If you had any witness, you can sue him / get it fixed at his expense as the stone came from either the town's / private property into the road for which you pay tax to use. You stand a very good chance of winning.
Generally the deductible is $500 unless you have first party insurance. Check with the insurance company the terms.
Looks like the Glass is cheap. There are a number of options.
1. Buy the glass and take it to some roadside cheap mechanic. It is very easy to replace. (In India we used to replace it ourselves). May be he can do it for you.
2. Check Lucky Japanese car second hand parts (401/Dixie). He gave me the lowest quote for front windshield replacement ($200). He is very cheap compared to the rest I tried. I still donot have the moeny to replace it.
Peace
