Dear friends:

I have to submit the IELTS result after getting test. Should I submit original or certified copies. I have not asked for IELTS, but wish to submit.

Does score in IELTS counts in assessment.
Does bad score(5.0 to 6.0) will have negative impact on the case regardless of passing the required marks.

Regards

I am not a consultant, but can share my opinion based on the info I have,

1. It is recommended to submit the original

2. Depends on your overall points. If with a score crosses the current requirement of 67 points with 5-6 band then I do not see a problem.

I hope you are aware of the grading system of how to map your IELTS score with the point requirement.

Regards

Vishal

You *must* submit originals.
No copies or certified copies - only original transcript.

Yes, it is used to assign you points for language.

Officers have a certain "discretionary" authority - they can reject an applicant even if they have the required points, or can approve an applicant even if he/she has less than required points.
This authority is exercised very rarely - probably 1 in 10,000 cases or so (wild guess - I am not a lawyer)
To answer your question, yes, the officer can deny your case if he/she determines that your score in language is so low that you cannot settle in Canada and cannot function in Canadian society as a skilled worker.
However, as I said, it is rare and I know of people who did not have a good score in either English or French but got approved.
Therefore, if this happens in your case, immediately contact an immigration lawyer and file for judicial review.

Hope this helps.
