Hi All,

I know there have been lots of questions about this and i am very clear on the 1095 days criteria and have completed over 1220 days. Just need help with the following question :

1) I am applying for my citizenship and while filling up the residency calculator online i realised i went to buffalo twice by car for weekend in last 3yrs ; but that has no record on my passport (no stamps). How should i determine those exact dates.

As per my passport i have added all other exact dates for my visits to india within these three years. But cant recollect dates of those 2 visits over the weekend to buffalo.

Can i put random dates? will that be objectionable by CIC? whats the work around?

Kindly Reply.

Warm Regards,
....

Try and look for the proper dates through:

Credit card usage for GAS in the usa,
Through telephone records: Phone calls to friends in the usa for the visit.
Purchases made through Credit cards.
Foreign Exchange through Banks.
Through other passengers in the vehicle, who traveled on that day.
Hotel Expenses incurred and paid through the cards.
Purchase of items such as Liquor and cigarettes.
Toll receipts.
If pictures were taken then through the dates printed on the pictures.
If you maintain a Car book, then through the odometer readings, reset and gas purchases.
If mail was put on hold, then through the Post Office.
Travel insurance or through the maps and trip ticks.
If none, then, through your office friends.
Through the neighbors.

If the vehicle was registered in your name, they will have all of the details through their scans. They will have the time and dates too.

Hope this helps.

Freddie.

Hi Freddie,

Thanx for your prompt reply and advise. Unfortunately, i dont have any of those details as i was new in canada at that time and was tottal dependent on my ex husband and had no credit card, bank a/c etc. And all these details should be with my ex husband and there is no way of retrieving these details from him.

Should i just pick random dates in that case? I just remember it was twice in 1yr and for 2 days (weekend) on each visit. Amsure about it.

Kindly suggest me how i should proceed.

Warm Regards,
....

If you remember the year and the month and the two days during the month, then, that will be it. That is as close as you will ever be. I don't think they will doubt it.

If those travels have been by road and the car was registered in your Ex-Husbands name - there is no way they can be sure you travelled with him...
Freddie, correct me if I am wrong on this one.

I think that they want you to be a little more specific at times.
Most of the times, it is an honor system. Admitting that one did travel and during the year and in a month might do. Since they are becoming sticky, I would urge people to keep track of their movements in a diary form. Also note any incidents and other occurrences for personal records.
You are 100% correct. But who knows, what the scan systems detect or record? I don't know the number of Cameras nor the angle at which they are trained. Hence, there is no way of telling what to write in a Citizenship application. Hence the suggestion to narrow it down to an year and the month.
The memory wants to blank out a few of the occurrences, when people want to forget all about the one you shared your life with. It is selective, it does take place, and it is what one wants. So be it.

((Can't they call their EX and ask?))

Freddie.

Dear All,

I'm new to this website.

Can anyone tell what are the chances of getting citizenship for people who stay outside canada and still apply for cizizenship through an agent and what could be the risks involved if anything goes wrong.

Hope my Q is clear.
