Hi, I'm a student from India who has got accepted into a University in Canada. I had problems with my passport (it is expiring soon) and hence had to get it re-issued, and just got my new passport back yesterday. I will be submitting my visa application at the earliest next week in Mumbai at the VFS office, and I am very worried I won't get it back on time. I have to be in Canada on the 25th or 26th of August as my university's orientation begins then and I don't want to miss it.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? How long does it usually take to get back the passport with the visa? I am hoping that since July is not a peak time (the website says March-June is the busiest time), that I will atleast get my visa within 30 days. Do they usually ask for a medical exam?
Just praying I get my visa on time and can go happily
Please provide them the details you are providing us here with, exact dates and timings. Plus also the copy of the e-ticket to them and ask them to speed it up. It takes about four weeks at the MAX. You will receive the same in ample time.

Quote:Thanks a lot man, hope that's true. I'll do what you have advised. I am just worried because I was very excited to be there for orientation and meet my classmates and stuff. Hope it works out.
