Hi, I am posting on behalf of my friend who is not a Internet Savvy.
He had been living in Windsor, Canada for the past 5 years and he applied for citizenship. He had an interview and his Citizenship was granted but the day of Oath, he had a family emergency in his native country and he missed the citizenship Oath ceremony. Now the file shows pending. It is been pending for more than 9 months. Looks like the case has been refered to a Judge and windsor does not have Judge of its own.
Now his PR card is expiring in two months. He is getting job offers in Detroit, Michigan, US. (His US will be one time entry until he gets his Green Card Parole papers which is 1 year away)
The questions for the experts:
1. Can he apply for PR Extension showing his Citizenship pending status? If so, can you please refer some Attorney to do it?
2. Can he move his file to Detroit Consulte to take oath?
3. Since he proved his residency status, can he start his new job. (he will not be able to commute for atleast one year)
Thanks in advance.

Freddie,
That is an valuable suggestions. When you say
"2) There are a few that I know have obtained their citizenship out side of Canada. Please see their web site or drop in and ask"
What do you mean by this. Can you tell me the where I could get the information?
Thanks.
PS. the reason he can not commute is that his US visa is a Green Card Advance Parole visa which allows the person to go out of the country only in Emergency situation. It will be problem for him to use parole visa to use everyday commute.
