I have received a letter for written test from Govt. of Canada for the position of Chemical process technician. I am very confused what they will ask me. I don't remember what department I had applied because it was in Jan -2008. But letterhead says Ministry of Agri - foods.
Did anyone received this letter? What they can ask me? What prepartion i should do? Anybody given this kind of written test before?
Please share your experience.
Thanks

Does the letter indicate the type or name of the test?
What does the letter specifically say regarding the test type/name/etc.

Hi, I never wrote a Test with the Feds - so I cannot give you the correct info. But, I wrote a number of tests with the Provincial Govt.
From my experience, most tests were Descriptive. Only 1 (the recent one) was Objective. Objective Written tests are simple to answer. Either you are correct or incorrect.
But, you have to be careful with Descriptive Tests. You are expected to write all the Pros&Cons (from an IT perspective - thats my experience). So, you may have to take a little more initiative to discuss all the encompassing situations.
This post is not actually relevant to you, since you are from another line of business. But, I am still posting it - incase, it helps at some level.
Best of Luck
