No right on red on the island...thats about it. Outside the island you can turn on red.

I recently visited Montreal but was not sure about some signs I saw at intersection.
If you see a Green circle with two arrows inside pointing straight and towards right, does that mean you are not allowed to take a left turn even if it is a two way? (that's what I did but was not sure)
I drove upto Rue St Dennis and I saw these signs at various intersection. For some I know I could not make left turns because of one way.
Also there were some signs with Green circle with two arrows pointing straight and left turns even though I could make right turn on green. Is right turn allowed if this sign is there?
I just followed the signs as indicated by the arrows but was not sure.
Could you please help me usnderstand this as I will be in Montreal again by end of this month.

yes you are right...only straingt and right means no left turn

It means you are allowed to turn left(or continue straight) at the intersection
You are always allowed right on green unless its a one way or there are signs on the right lane saying you are not allowed going in.

you can also chose to sound like a francophone by saying things like
'I ave heggs at ome.'
see?you dont need to know french
