Dear Friends,
I am currently working in the US and interested in pursuing a Candian PR as my I-140 application got denied last year. I can reapply but it will be a gamble and so I want to start the Canadian PR process as a backup. I am currently eligible to be in the USA until end of 2010.
I have recently learnt that the Candian PR process is smoother if I already have some company lending its name (for a token charge in return) to support my work permit and arranged employment application. I know there are quite a few who do provide their company name support but their charges are very exorbitant and on top of that I do not know whether they are genuine or not.
I did go through the knowledge database to check if anyone else had enquired about this but did not find anything. So I please earnestly request all you friends to let me know if they know of someone genuine and trustworthy who can provide support for my arranged employment application. That way I can file for my work permit and subsequently PR later.
Btw I am working in the IT field here in US for the last 5 years.
Any suggestions from you Candian friends will be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance for your replies.
I dont think if u really require work permit to apply for PR. U have 5 yrs of exp & i hope u must be 21+. In that case if u calculate ur points then
age 10 points
edu 20 points (for BS & 25 if u have MS degree)
experience 21 points
If u r married & ur wife is BS then u may get min 3 points.
Now if u get 16 points in language (ielts 7 band in each reading, speaking, listening & writing)
U r qualified in that case.
U have valid 1 yr US visa so u can apply for PR at Buffalo. So go ahead apply & meanwhile prepare for IELTS..
Revert back if u still have any question.
Regards.

Hello Bablu12345,
Many Many thanks for your advise. I do qualify strongly as per the Canadian self assessment test. However I have recently learnt that ( it is also on the cic.ga site) the authorities are giving less priority to standalone skilled worker PR applications if they are not accompanied by an "arranged employment" evidence. That's the reason I was looking for some company who can support that work permit and PR application concurrently.
Once again I thank you for taking the time to respond to my query and please let me know if you know anyone I can contact regarding this.
One more important thing......Can you please recommend some good and credible attorneys I can contact???
Regards
Sorry leo. I dont know any attorny to whome you can contact. Can u send me a link where its mentioned that "the authorities are giving less priority to standalone skilled worker PR applications if they are not accompanied by an "arranged employment" evidence. "
I still have a doubt if its true.
I feel 90% or even more than that get the PR without an arranged employment evidence. So i dont think if u shud worry abt this.
Anyways .. best wishes.

Having a Canadian employer backing helps but is not a guarantee from CIC of any priorities. I'll advise you apply immediately and can look for Canadian employer later, once if you manage to get a Canadian job you can inform CIC on your change of employer. Please don't go with people who promise jobs on money, don't trap yourselve in such things. There are no shortcuts, in fact trying to have a shortcut can land you in problem.
Hope this helps.
Jona
Check out the posts, there's one similar thread on the site, I have came across that 2-3 weeks back and the guy got a good positive reply from member who offered him ..................., most probably it was in Independent Category Forum.
Best of luck.
