You can connect only one computer to the modem at one time if it is a pure DSL modem. You need a router to connect more computers.
You need to have phone jack->modem->router->computer wireless or wired. Is broadcast SSID on or off? Just make sure you are accessing your own home network. Try to reboot your modem and router. If you are entering correct password for your SSID on your network card, it should work.
Did you enter any manual settings in TCP-IP under network connections?

It sounds more likly between Primus Modem & Linksys.
Here is what I would do to confirm same ...
Connect everything the way you desire to (Modem>Linksys>Laptops). You said, communication seems to be fine between Laptop & Linksys. See if laptops can ping each other.
(I can list steps if you want ... but I guess you would know - assumption is based on your explanation)
If Laptops can see each other you can surely say that its between Modem & Linksys.
Turn Off everything. And Switch back ON in the sequence starting from Primus Modem. Observe Lights on Primus Modem when you turn ON. Before turning Linksys, let the lights settle on Modem.
When you turn on Linksys - see if both Send & Receive flickers on Modem. again, Let the Lights settle on Modem ... now turn on your Laptop and observe lights again - but this time on both Modem & Linksys (Send/Receive on Modem).
And observe Send/Receive on Modem when you try to access some website.
It could be as simple as DNS Server.
Let me know if I dont make sense ...

Home Laptop>
Go to Command Prompt by "Start" --> "Run" --> Type cmd & Hit "OK"
At Prompt Type ipconfig /all & Hit Enter
Note Down the DNS Servers: x.x.x.x
At Prompt Type nslookup & Hit Enter
You probably will get
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds
At 'nslookup' prompt type server 4.2.2.2 & Hit Enter
> server 4.2.2.2
If your Internet Connection is alive then you;ll get
Default Server: vnsc-bak.sys.gtei.net
Address: 4.2.2.2
otherwise same error DNS request timed out

Can I ask a stupid question?
Is your Router hardwired to the Modem?
The wireless connection is only between the Router and the Computer. The connection netween the Modem and the Router is wired.
Experts, please correct me if I am wrong.
Good luck.
