i want to know regarding the Criteria for PR ,like one has to stay in canada for two years in a total five years one time or in every five years cycle one has to stay in canada for two years in order to keep there PR status continue

You are correct in your assessment. You will have to renew your PR every five years, only if you want to. Some will get their Citizenship within the first five year period. If they are unable to qualify with in the first five, then they can Renew and try to obtain the Citizenship in the next five years.

Once you obtain your Citizen ship.. you stop doing this. If you do not want to get your citizenship, then, you can renew it the third time also.

There are a few who are living in Canada without renewing it. They do not have the legal papers. And those who do not have them are called W.O.P's.. This is a status that is conferred upon themselves, all by themselves, for reasons unknown. Also there are others who are illegals, who are still here in Canada also being called the same.
