If one wants to do some renovation work in kitchen, do you know approximately how much will it cost ? If a kitchen platform is in C shape and we want to change it to L shape, so removing basin and reinstalling it...to have more working area in continuation....??
It would be a better idea to consult a contractor for such matters. Go to Home Depot or Rona...
Alternatively:
You can post your project here: http://www.handycanadian.com
It is free and once you post your project, contractors will contact you via your preferred method of communication. Email is better than phone in my opinion. You can consult a few registered contractors that bid on your project and ask for estimates which is free by the way. After that, you can take it or leave it. Simple really.
Posters here can only speculate.
Thanks Raj : Good link.
I just posted bcos I wanted an approx idea : can it be $ 1 K or 5 k or more ?
You are welcome.
Well, again, if I was to guess based on my recent run-in with a similar predicament, I would think it is somewhere close to your 5K range or perhaps more. I am assuming the old counter-top and shelves would go. So you are essentially looking at gutting it and rebuilding. Also any plumbing work would be fairly expensive I think i.e., if you had to move the location of your sink etc...
Thanks.
Before renovating your kitchen, there are few things you may want to consider.
That is, your return on investment (ROI) in an event you plan to sell your home/condo.
Also consider your neighbourhood home prices before planning any renovation. Every street/ condo building has its own break even point in terms of selling price. Spending $10K on kitchen renovation for an average $300K home may NOT produce higher ROI than the same amount spent on a $500K home.
As per one study by Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), kitchen renovation's avg. return is 75%.
Depending on your budget, choice of material (laminate, granite; corian; quartz counter tops, faucets, back splash, hardware) kitchen renovation can go anything from $2,000 and up to $20,000 or more.
