I m not from montreal and moving next year to toronto .

Based on my research somewhere near Islington / Albion/Kipling /matringrow/finch those area are good as start up. then u can find better place as u wish

One cant take decision based on work place it can be change anytime. So pick up the center area for where u can move around easily with sort distance.

I m not to sure but from those place downtown –Brampton-Mississauga all key areas are in 30 minute distance. (In between hwy 401- hwy 400 –hwy 427) U WILL BE CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN, INDIAN Shopping's AS WELL AS DESI PUBLIC.

However, this is my research BUT I STILL PREFER some input from Desi living in TORONTO.

Depends on your definition of "close".
Not all parts of Brampton and Mississauga are "close" to downtown.
From some parts of Brampton and Mississauga, it can take over an hr. to get to downtown, either by GO or by car.
For example, if you live near the 401/Winston Churchill area in Mississauaga, the Go train ride to Union is almost an hr.
Driving during rush hr. is also between 45 mins - 1 hr. (more in winter).

Again , I m not from Toronto so my post is based on my research.

Are these places “Islington / Albion/Kipling /matringrow/finch” –
in Brampton or Mississauga ?

If I’m not mistaking “ I SAID ABOVE MENTIONS PLACES ARE CENTER OF ALL SIDE – which means u can go from there to downtown or Brampton or Mississauga within 30 min.

Please clarify me because I was thinking that above mentioned places (Islington / Albion/Kipling /matringrow/finch” – are neither in Brampton or Mississauga nore downtown

When I see on map they are looks like similar distance from all side (downtown-Brampton-Mississauga) let’s make a CIRCLE BETWEEN FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS ( hwy401-hwy427-hwy407-hwy400) on map. Which will gives u clear picture of area.

NOW, CAN ANYONE TELL ME IS THIS IS GOOD AREA , considering commute to downtown , Indian shopping , community services ( schools, hospitals, parks, and more important SAFETY)

Thank you in advance

Islington / Albion/Kipling /matringrow/finch

These places are on the west side of Toronto and about 10-20 min drive to Brampton and missisauge .. These are not the best of places to be..

Find something closer to Kipling subway station..

Kipling and Dixion
or
Kipling and Eglinton

both these places are similar distance from Brampton and missisauga and are slightly better.

response to "Dudewashmycar" post:

In terms of what this places are not good ? crime ? facilities ? community ?

if you can explain little more about the BAD and good topics regarding this particular area would be nice .

the reason i m asking you is " i already made up my mind moving towards those area" but then again i don't wanna get stuck into bad areas.

so please give me your feedback if it is a really really BAD decision to move to those places.

Dear CD's,

continuing the thread on where to settle and thanks to all, I have also narrowed my choice to 2 areas. I visited both etobicoke and mississauga-square 1 area briefly.
I am married, no children and a job in down town toronto. looking for a 2 bedroom condo to buy with the purpose of settling down for quite a number of yrs. we take public transport and dont drive yet. maybe in future.

Which is a better location to buy a house in long term keeping in mind safety, childrens education etc.

etobicoke or mississauga (square 1 area)?

pls help

thanks
Vikram
