They also have Diwali celebrations in Brampton at the Pearson center - 10/05 from 11 am to 7pm and then 10/24 diwali dinner .... wonder whats happening on Diwali in Mississauga and other GTA areas ?
Do they have any 'Diwali melas ' like you used to have in India ??

Thanks Hiren,
I looked at the links but none of them seem to have the fire-cracker event which IMO brings the real flavor to the diwali celebrations.
anyone aware of fire-cracker events?

A few of us friends have a regular potluck programme with Diwali Puja and fireworks in mississauga - I am sorry I cannot invite any new friends there since it is a closed group and everyone takes turn hosting. But CDs can think of something on similar lines. Please note you have to take permission from city in advance to have fireworks and all safety norms need to be followed - for the participants as well as the neighbours.
At the least, everyone can have a quieter celebration at home with puja and just the sparklers in the balcony/backyard - you dont need permission for that and its safe too (albeit with necessary precaution).
Many temples do have fireworks programs - I know of Swaminarayan temple and Sanathal Mandir. Maybe you could visit those.
