Hi,
I came to canada about 3 yrs back as a landed immigrant and now am divorced from my husband. I will be applying my citizenship in december 08.
Just want suggessions from experienced senior desis about the given below question:
1) My family wants me to come back to India to resettle in life as i am totally alone here.
I intentionally waited to apply for my citizenship as i am a divorcee and am totally unware and scared of my options to settle in India now. But i would definately want to give life a second chance and if god helps and i find a suitable match i would not wanna come back to canada ever.
But i want to take this citizenship cuz i am scared of life ..with the kinda experience i have had....God forbid something happens in future atleast i will have a chance to come back to canada.
Will my leaving Canada after applying for citizenship (will gv CIC my friend's fwdn address and when she recieves a test letter i can come back for a few months )impact my being granted citizenship in any way?
I would be thankful if you could advise me regarding the above given concern.
Thanking you all,
Heer

Join a group or an organization that will have similar goals and ambitions. Read through their e-mails and see the topics discussed and solutions that they arrived at. Call and ask the local library for these magazines and other publications too. : http://www.divorcemag.com/ON/
I do not want to overload you with other subject matters, but I see you are proceeding in the right direction.
I see that you have the full support of your family back in India and they want to see you settled down in life and also have a great future. You are also eager to find some one suitable and settle down in life once more.
Your idea of obtaining the Canadian Citizenship is FIRST and FOREMOST, regardless where you settle down in life is worthy of note.
Since we do not know about the date of arrival, please make sure that you have the FULL three years or 1095 days of stay here with in Canada. Once you obtain the application form for the Citizenship you can fill the same and submit it and take a holiday back home. Return back prior to the test date and swearing in ceremony takes place. Your local friends should be in a position to take care of the mail and communications while you are away.
Also there are Immigrant Help and Service Centers here in CD website who will not only help you with the Citizenship application, they might also have other services that they might provide you with right directions on the subject matters that you want to get help with.
There is a great Future for you and it does not matter where you go from here. And I am sure all of us wish you the very Best in Life.
Best of Luck.
Freddie.
You can check the status of your citizenship application at cic.gc.ca. Be prepared to fly back within a week or so because usually there is not much time after the letter to appear for test comes in the mail.

Actually there are schools run by Kolbe Group which will help you prepare for the test and submit your application and you can take the test on the same day of the application so you will only have to come/wait for the oath if every thing else is good. Hope this helps.
Is there any school run by Kolbay group in downtown toronto or Scarborough?
not sure if they have in toronto or scarborough, but in mississauga and brampton
