Sorry to see that we also get caught in a bind some time. Thanks for airing it.

Here is what I came across about Airtel and the process for settling a grievance with them. Since you know most or all of the details and the transaction, I would urge you to go through the links and the process detailed here and see which route to follow to get the sum back or get the required services for which you volunteered to join.

Either way, I Hope you come out winning.

Please keep us posted as to the W5 in this situation.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Hi Sanjeev:

Did you use airtelcallhome.com and they are not getting back to you?

There was another fake company operating under airtelusa.com and looks like they closed down.

I haven't tried this but as per the link it's 3.25/min for 5$ and 3.99 > $5 recharge (+ TAX)

One of my friends told me about Airtel Long distance. Also I saw their ad in some ethnic news paper so I opened my account with $25. First of all their website is soooooo slow that it took me almost 20 minutes just to open the account. Anyway, then I tried calling the toll free number to make call to India and I got the response: All circuits are busy. After trying for about 10-12 times, I dialed their 24/7 customer service number and guess what? same response: All circuits are busy.
I e-mailed them and explained the problem and asked for refund of my $25. I got an automated reply that someone will get back to me within 24 hours. Even after 48 hours when no one responded, I tried their 24/7 customer service and this time I got the message: YOUR CALL CAN NOT BE CONNECTED. PLEASE CHECK THE NUMBER.
I e-mailed them again and asked for refund. It's been over 2 days and I am still waiting for any response.

I had been using Reliance and G3 telecom for 3-4 years and I was quite satisfied with their service. Pata nahin, kyon Airtel ke chakkar mein aa gaya? Mere $25 to gaye par bhai log, kum se kum aap apne bacha lo.

Hello, I have same experience just as you. But Finally I am able to dial local (Vancouver #) which works fine.Overall quality and experience is very good after wards. There is always availble line with good reception.

Tata Telecom( trueroots.com) also has similar promotion for buy one get one till 30th October I have registered but has not used so far, will post more information after use.

Sorry to hear you about your bad experience, Sanjeev.

I registered with airtellcallhome to get advantage of 50% extra talktime. 2 times call customer care center, Got quick response and satisfied answers. Got chance to call India 2 times (~5 min each), clear lines, good voice quality (same as relianceindiacall)

I used local Toronto number both the times. if you are not aware, there are different charges when you use local access number or toll free number.

Are you still having same difficulties?

youspeek.com charges .032c/min for Ind mobile & .034c/min for Ind landlines. Call quality is very good.

I ve been using Call Select (callselect.ca) for 6 month now at a flat rate to India for 3.9 c/min and have found the quality and service to be very good .

It can be direct dialing or call- through-a-number calling . There s a monthly charge of $4/- and pulse is per minute but that does not matter if you are talking for 20-30 mins / more per call .
