These charges provided here are not in any order.

Debt retirement charges. Ontario Government blew a whole whack of dow on Atomic Reactors and they are recovering the cost of RE-building and renovation, plus what they paid the high priced wigs for their use of chauffeurs, limos and helicopters. That will keep appearing for another 200 years or so. It is in the range of $15 + for every two months

Regulatory charges. It is to look after the Provincial Grid and make sure of the reliability. That is about $15 + also for two months

Electricity charges: They split this into the first 1200 KWHs and the balance. For the first 1200 KWH you pay 0.05 per KWK the balance 0-.059. It varies from location to location.

It does not stop there.

There is a delivery charge for the whole quantity. about 2/3 of the Electricity cost.

So, for the first thirty bucks you get diddly squat.

The next 100 bucks 66 is for the Electricity and the 33 for delivery.

Say for a two bedroom Condo, if the heat and A/C is included, which I doubt, now you will only pay the rent, if it is all inclusive.

If not, and they have a meter installed specially for each unit, you can control the consumption and lower your bills.

You would probably pay, about $60/m in the summer. (If you do not Use A/C.)

You will probably pay about the same if the heat is Forced Hot Air. (Most of them provide you with this for free)

So, the $70, in high season, is for the cooking and TV and the use of the fan, ironing, radio, toaster and the other thrills such as internet, satellite, washer and dryer and of course the masala mixie.

That I think is a real bargain. Please check your Hydro bill any way. They give you a breakdown and and an explanation in the reverse side.

Freddie.
