Whether you 'own' the house or 'rent' the apartment you are still called a 'tenant'.
Remember, when you bought the house and the lawyer asked you whether you would be signing the documents as 'joint tenants' or 'tenants in common' because the Government has the absolute right on your property and you hold the title or own the property only till you keep on paying the 'property tax'.
