Basic coverage is same in both like fire,theft etc but in rental its limited.....when you own a house they are much more things involved....that's why the premiuim is also much lower than owner's insurance.

Just on a lighter side.

Whether you 'own' the house or 'rent' the apartment you are still called a 'tenant'.

Remember, when you bought the house and the lawyer asked you whether you would be signing the documents as 'joint tenants' or 'tenants in common' because the Government has the absolute right on your property and you hold the title or own the property only till you keep on paying the 'property tax'.

So right...........:(

Following that logic, the insurance should be called tenant's insurance which would cover both a renter and 'owner in trust!!!!!'
