I was looking for alternative of having a guarantor to sign the Canadian passport application. Unfortunately a few people whom I closely know do not have passports and so are not eligible to be a guarantor. When looking for choices, I found a website for Red Seal Notary http://www.redsealnotary.com/passport-offices/canada/ontario/windsor/passport_office_windsor.html who notarizes stuff. I wanted to know are they by any chance a substitute of a guarantor for passport application? I called them and asked the same question -- they said that their lawyer will be able to take care of this (doing the work of guarantor!). If someone know anything more on this, could you please provide some information? Thank you.

You can get it done via ur family doc or some office colleague as well.
.. he has known you for 2 years. The requirements have changed and now you need to have a person who has known you for at least 2 years AND has a Canadian ppt can be a guarantor.
IF you don't know ANYONE like that, then you can use the RedSeal folks but they do charge for the service.
