After spending few weeks in fareast and india, I came back during the first week of January. Due to the humidity and moisture contents, I have developed dry skin on my face. Times I can feel it hard. When shaving I have problems (cant afford to grow a beard). Right now applying Vaseline intensive rescue extra strength lotion. A friend suggested coconut oil, not sure of it. Even in the office I am applying the Vaseline lotion on the neck (back side). Two days back got something from Shopperd Drugmart, but it did not help. Any suggestions?

Kumar,
Are you sure it is Dry Skin. Dry skin is due to LACK of Humidity and Moisture in the air (eg. Winter wind, freezing cold etc...). It normally appears as white / white flakes being formed in the skin.
By far the best solution is applying petroleum jelly available in all stores. Try to apply it at home in the night while in the morning use some scented mosisturizing lotion which can bring a nice smell to your office / co workers.
Dry skin is no big deal but you should keep moisturising it often to prevent it from happening again. It will go away in a few days.

Peace by TK

I think it is the dry skin. I can see some dry white flakes. It started after I came back. Its only on the face and neck, exposed body parts. I will give it a try today.

Try Eucerin creme - it is perfect! You get the generic equivalent of eucerin in WalMart (Equate Brand) which is cheaper.

Apply cream or lotion immediately after taking shower or bath- that is within 2 mins
--avoid taking long shower and very hot showers,it makes the skin more dry
--for shaving, you can use Shaving gel with extra moisturiser ..I guess gillette has it

use aveeno cream on face immediatly after a bath. apply again after 5-6 hours. it is soothing and very effective and has no odour. vaselline petrollium jelly is good too but sticky. dry skin shouldnt be so haed though. try the cream for a day or two then see the doctor.
