Hello Cd's,
My In-laws have a single entry Canadian visa stamped on their Indian passport which expires during the end of Aug. 2009.
My brother in the USA has now sent them an invitation for them to get a US B1/B2 (visior's visa). Howver the agent (VFS) has refused to consider their case saying that he needs a new passport (since the current one is expiring in 6 months by the time that they will get an Interview with a US Visa officer in Chennai , TN). We are ready to apply by Thatkal as my in-laws will be coming to Ontario only on Mar 20 / 2009.
Is it legal / allowed to have a Candian single entry visa on the cancelled passport and the USA B1/B2 (visitor's visa) on the new passport?
Any thoughts? (The trip to USA is not that important compared to the trip to Canada).

They are OK. When they will travel, ask them to carry both passports as other passport has a valid visa.
