so after i get G2, how long it ll take to get G ??
And will i be able to buy a car on basis of G2 license ??
IF you are in USA on an H1, are you planning on going back to USA or are u immigrating permanently to Canada. IF it's temporary and you'll do your landing and leave, please don't worry about your license. Once you decide to move here permanently, then look into it. IF you have a job with a USA based company and calls for travel to USA, you can retain your USA license. cdn_dude is right, if u can manage to get your Canadian license with 2 years US history, it's muchhh easier! Also, if you are moving from New Jersey, the process is even more complex..
Good Luc!

will i have to give exam in canada for its G license or will i get it directly without exam on basis of my US license ??
thanks
I would recommend the same...wait and complete your 2 yrs even if you move here....I made that mistake, was just short of 3 months & exchanged it....wasted so much $$ to finally get G2 after failing once & getting lessons to brush up as didn't have my own car at that time.
The system here for 3 tests....its like a $$ making machine ....as per what I call it

Why is the system complex if you moving from New Jersey ?
Also do I need an address proof in Canada to exchange my US driver license ?
Nothing particular to NJ.. 2 yr old license requirement for G on exchange is for all exchangeable licenses.
You don't need any proof of address, but you need an address. They will only mail the license. So that itself is the proof...
