Travelling on a low-budget airline is cost-saving but remember, you have to buy your snacks and refreshments (the sandwiches are somewhat stale, horrible and under-filled) and once their job of serving you is complete, they are out of sight until pre-landing procedures.
Kingfisher is nice and so also Air India (formerly Indian Airlines).
Jet Air >>> toooooo expensive.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!!!
We took spice jet from Delhi-Mum and back last year. Our experience with them was good. Yes, we need to buy snacks on flight, but I found them good too. On return my young daughter vomited and the crew was very helpful in cleaning up, bringing water, lemon and sweets for her. I think it depends from hostess to hostess. Though I was very embarrassed but even the fellow passengers were gentle and kept asking if she's all right.....may be my good day!
Hope this helps...................Jona
