This article appears only in rediff, but did anybody attend this event to see this happening?

What are Ruby Dhalla/Navdeep Bains/Ujjal Dosanjh/Harindar Takher doing? It is time to write to them.

Those Khalistani idiots were also present on 15th Aug ceremony at Yonge Dundas square handing out pamphlets.

This incident is a very well kept secret of Mississauga. It was discussed on our airwaves (on Asian Connection) on Monday. A gentleman of Sikh faith described this incident as a bad incident and was not reflective of all the Indians.

The issue here is that this is a tip of the iceberg. There is something fundamental happening in Canada offlate. The freedom of speech is intrepreted as individual versus a collective group of people.

For Example:

1.If you would have heard Dr.Lamba on Asian connection recently he would be a shadow of his past. The hosts are always asking the callers in to ask questions about Canada and to refrain from asking questions from back home. This is due to the protests from our Asian neighbours. When he starts is program as an individual he is booed by a group of people and not allowed to speak by calling in.

2.The other gentlemen who calls in from Punjab got into problems yesterday for discussing the concept of Hindu terrorists and Col.Purohit. He was also asked in to hold his horses by a couple of callers. The individual view /freedom of expression is drowned by a group freedom.

3.I had the opportunity to listen to the LTTE sponsored Tamil radio called 101.3FM which transmits programs in tamil in the mornings and late nights. They are bashing Indian government, Congress party and Indian politician. I think that they take it for granted that nobody is listening or if they listen nobody can do anything. The language used against Congress party during the last two days is quite derogatory. At the same time a small girl of age of about 10 years called in and said that she has been calling Ottawa and asking for Stephen Harper and he was not coming on the line to hear to he complaint about the Srilankan tamils. She complained his assistant came on line and said that he would pass on the message to Stephen Harper. Hence the concept of freedom of expression individual versus Collective freedom seems to differ.

The good news is that the Omni TV news on India has improved very much.

I hope that Canada would remain as a country with freedom of speech for individuals and not just for a collective group of people meaning VOTE BANK.

Shameful. Boo!

When the tamils protested, CFRB took calls from listeners in which one of them said there were talks amongst the protesters that they may take it to the "next level" and start setting cars on fire "like they did in Paris". Don't know why we have to make this Canada's problem and have such disgusting demonstrations here. DUMB.

Do you think the politicians you mentioned here would even dare to do anything about these stupid demonstrations...remember these are the very people who sent them to the parliament through their votes. Who says vote bank politics doesn't happen in Canada. Double standard morons!

I still remember back in 2004 when the Air India bombers were let go (So much for a wonderful system that WORKS!), there were people on the streets distributing sweets.

Don't understand what their problem is? They cry about all the atrocities by the Indian government on Sikhs without realizing that in spite of them being a minority, there has been a Sikh president, a Sikh chief of Indian army and the current PM of India is a Sikh.

Has anyone been to the Gurudwaras in Brampton and Mississauga? I stopped going their once I saw all those terrorists branded as martyrs on the walls.

I just feel sorry for them - they seem to be still living in the issues which happened 20+ years back... Some one else had posted a news about Akalidal planning to enter Canada politics.. may be all these are related...

As for the Peel police, I don't think they did anything wrong. Flag burning is a constitutionally protected free speech in NA. In US, the Supreme Court ruled in 1989 of the same. Even the proposed constitutional amendment banning the desecration of the flag was defeated in the Senate. Canada itself has history of protests with stepping on Quebec flag and Burning Canadian flag in front of supreme court itself.

Irrespective of what they did themselves are legally correct or not, they don't have any right to force others to walk/drive over any countries flag.

I agree. I watched the video clip of the Lankan demonstrators and they were all screaming at the top of their lungs for "Justice". One reader in Toronto Star pointed out that some demonstrators were giggling and laughing thereby making the entire episode questionable.

What a senseless and wasteful effort? In fact, these people are doing injustice to the country that let them in on humanitarian grounds.

What has Canada got to do with the conflict in Sri Lanka? All that the Canadian govt. did was to let these dorks into the country on asylum and they payback by holding Toronto to ransom.

Just imagine how we would feel if a bunch of Canadian's block traffic in Mumbai for a conflict in Canada. Wouldn't we feel like kicking their a** and throwing them out of country?

There's so much freedom given to everyone in North America that some forget who they're and what they're doing.

India boiled sikhs alive, raped their women, did thousands of illegal encounters - in Godhara killed thousands of muslims and later torutred muslim youth - guess what it becomes fodder for events like the nov incident in Mumbai.

Do some search on Ram Kumar - how he is fighting for illegal cremations (of alleged sikh militants) in India - also visit ensaaf.org and see for yourself.
