You must have applied for an Indian Passport .... if you do not believe in India / respect it why did you / your ancestors apply for it ??? And if you did , either you should show respect to the nation and the philosophy , or be prepared to call a person of no integrity .

There have been problems , there always are ..... some die down and some continue to live ...... and are fed by people like your own self .... the best part is that since there are no major differences b/w Hindus and Sikhs , whatever flickering you and your thought mates may do , since there are no takers .... they will burn themselves out ..... God Bless my dear "Atheist " .

Very well said Fido...

Dude, I am a Sikh as well, born and brought up in Delhi where all that happened. Saw the action from my own eyes. Guess what? After 25 years, I give a damn about it and so do everyone living in Delhi and/or Punjab. Trust me, I have relatives and friends all over Punjab and Delhi, who are devout Sikhs. Each one of us have forgotten and moved ahead in our lives. It's always better to forget the nightmares, otherwise they bog down your life and the ones around you (If they're not like you).

Please go and visit India, and see with your own eyes - how much everyone has achieved there; all stratas of society. Be it a Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, or the one belong to any other caste/creed.

Sick and tired of these backward fellows flew from India 25-30 years ago, who don't really know how to live peacefully in this beautiful and peaceful nation. If you guys have any issues with Indian Govt., please go and give them a white paper. Merely spreading hatred in this country will not achieve anything. Everyone knows where this propoganda is coming from; who are the friends & foes of India. Need to say more?

Well, I (and you too) know you won't do it. Just a laughing stock for me :)
May Almighty God give you and to the people alike, some peace!!

CBI gave Jagsish Tytler a clean chit. But then again, CBI is proly the most corrupt organization in this world. The case is now with the Supreme Court of India which was supposed to announce its decision on whether they will honour CBIs report.

They have adjourned the decision.

It is very simple why the Sikhs are mad (by the way, the Sikhs ARE still mad):
Indira Gandhi was murdered by two Sikhs. The two were hanged to death within 5 years. 25 years since the 1984 riots, there has been NO justice served.

Not sure how people can let such lack of justice go...it never will.

Being a Sikh I just thought of adding my views to this thread.

Great responses by Febpreet.... couldn't have expressed my feelings better than your posts

I don't have any hope that we Sikh Indians who have recently arrived from India will be ever able to explain to the fanatic sikhs here that things have changed. These youngsters here have been brain washed since childhood to the likes of Muslim terrorists.

Khalistan is a word which is associated with terrorism and bloodbath in Punjab. Majority have realized it and don't want that period to come back.

What others can do is just ignore them and not see them representatives of Sikh community.

I have Shikh friend who migrated from India 32 years back. Generally he is nice and jolly but once Khalistan issue came up and he started shouting that at least 50,000 Hindus should be kulled to avenage 84 riots! He started cursing Hindu and used very abusive word. I was literally taken aback. We were in group and some how matter reached to our Vice president who happens to be Hindu and Indian (left India 30 years back). She called me and told that if you lodge a complaint , he will be let go from company. However, I was not interested in harming his career (He is 55). After a few days when tempers had cooled and again he was friendly, I asked him "How do you get impression that Hindu some how were complicit in riots?"

I explained him that Indian and especially Hindu are very meek people. The riots were engineered by goons of Congress and when riots happen , ordinary people in fact first seek safety and do not dare to confront the crowd. The fact is that avery large number of Shikh were protected by Hindu families and friends. I was in India then and my boss happened to be a Shikh (In Gujarat). He was very upset on hearing the news and was chain smoking whole day. Later on we learnt that his mother was with a Hindu friend and was thus saved.

Unfortunate part of the story is that Khalistani in Canada do not care to read or research the issue. All the information that my friend had was from reading those Khalistani newspapers!. What happened was most unfortunate and reprehensible but to hold Hindu for the same is absolutely wrong.

The ame is Godhra story where story about "Thosands" of Muslim killed makes round. The fact is that roughly 2200 people were killed and quite a few of them were Hindu.

I told him to research articles by Arun Shourie. I told him that if you want to remember (Some one has posted refusing to move on) then your anger should probably be against Muslim who killed thousands of Shikhs 60 years back at time of partition and British who killed thousands of Indians including Shikhs (Jalianwala Bag). Here the same Khalistani are now in Pakistan and creating riots. However, Khalistani literature is very vitriolic and can easily misguide any one. His persistent question was why do Hindu keep electing Congress? I explained him maths (50% voting x 30% vote X 70% poor and uneducated x 70% which literally means 7%) and that too motivated by caste or other local factors. I told him that Khalistan is only Canadian issue and no body in India gives a damn.

Just a note while concluding that Congrss , by messing and manipulating CBI inquiry has not helped. Just to protect Sajjan and Jagdish Tytler .

Well, as Febpreet has stated one has to move on. My personal experience is that Shikh who lived in India after riots and then migrated know the truth and do nt bear any grudge but those in Canada reading Khalistani propoganda harbour anger.

I am currently in India and it is only probably because of elections here that the issue is taking space in the front pages. But over and beyond the reprehensible acts of violence, the focus is on political intervention in matters of justice. While that might be commonplace in India, something of this magnitude being swept under the rug is just not fair. Whether anyone cares to remember or hold grudge regarding 1984, this could very well be the biggest act of political corruptness in Indian history paving way for more in the future.
