Due to work reasons, I want to move my family to the Richmond Hill / Markham area north of Toronto. How is the desi community in those parts? I have heard that the population is mainly Chinese and Jewish. I have no problem with that but it would be nice if there are some Indians as well.

My mother is retired and I want her to join some sort of community group. We are Hindu Punjabi if that has any bearing.

Any information would be appreciated.

There are quite a few hindu punjabi families in Richmond hill....there is a temple...Vishny mandir where a lot of hindu punjabi's got to at yonge Street. Your mom should be able to get into a group from there.
