...and the envelop was open as it was not glued properly by the morons in HR dept. My building super is not reliable. Of course, I am assuming Post Office guys don't indulge in fraudulant activities.

Should I be going for some fraud protection tools? Like this one: http://www.equifaxcreditwatch.ca/gs/English/index.asp?f=home

It still costs money, around 15 bucks a month. Anyway to avoid this expense?

Attn Moderators: Can this post be moved to the appropriate section? Sorry, I posted it by mistake in Networking section.

Most of these people who say that they will cover the credit frauds are only as good as they say it in words. They will not warn you, but will provide you with the report and you will have to read and then take action through the legal system. They will step back at that time. They will tell you that they only help you and not correct it for you.

Also when you read through their pages you will find that they only cover what is below the knee caps and there is a deductible. In their coverage they will say that they ONLY cover that and this. Because they know that the others are non profitable. Read the fine print before you take it, only if you want it.

Just the same ask them if they will cover you for just for One month ONLY? while you were at it, also ask them if they cover the fraudulent telephone usage too? Recently there were a few cases of misuse reported in the news that amounted to 1/4 of a million dollars!! Not one but a few.

Be on the alert, that is all I can say to you, regarding your mail. Alert the issuer too. The ones that I get are sealed so tough, it does not fall apart in the machine processing and sorting. That is how we have improved the process and prevented the loss of privacy.

Freddie.
