hi,
i think u r more concerned for your kids, and you should be like all other parents. But as GG has indicated, getting admission for kids in school is very much similar to going to a super market in India ( i mean the process) you will not realize when u come out of the school that u had gone in to take admission, which is absolutely opposite than India.
French is not at all a barrier in kids education, the teachers and the system understands the difficulties one has to face. On the other hand, your kids will find Canadian school courses and standards very attractive.

Thanks again to u all for very very encouraging reply. This has helped me in making up my mind. However, it will take me TWO years to land there.
CHC, New Delhi is currently taking 16 months to process the applications.

In the meanwhile, one more question. Which Indian TV channels are visible in Canada (for a fee, of course) ...Sony, Zee, Star, Aplha Gujrati ?

Once you are here and busy with life - you will hardly think of watching desi channels.

on few basic channels - there are some good hindi programs.

Don't worry come to Toronto without any problem - it is like any Indian City - so many desis are here!

Canada may be a challenge for parents but as far as children are concerned, it's a piece of cake. You are doing very well to ask all the questions any good parent will ask, however, 2 years is a while away. For now, enjoy your life in India or wherever you are. Do not deprive yourself of anything thinking that you have to save for Canada. When the visa(s) are in hand, then you'll still have 5-6 months to ask more questions. Things change by the minute, in two years who knows ...

Good luck and be patient, all will be well.
