Hello,

I am filling my form for extending my work permit, and had the following question. I originally entered Canada in April 2008 at Montreal, and there is a stamp on my passport for that entry. Recently, I entered Canada from the US using Amtrak. The immigration officials on-board Amtrak just checked that all my papers are in order, and they did not stamp my passport with an entry stamp.

Now my question is, what date will I provide for the \"Most recent entry to Canada\" question. Should I go by my passport, and provide the date of the latest stamp, or provide the actual date of latest entry, which is not stamped on my passport.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Raj.

If the only stamping that you have in your Passport is in April of 2008 for your entry, there is only one date to report.

When you traveled by AMTRACK, they only check and make sure that you were admitted into Canada or not. If you were, then they can let it ride on the old stamping. So no entries. So no reporting. But please keep the booking and reservation and any ticker remnants etc., all in a safe place if you ever need it again for some reason.

If perchance you were entering Canada for the first time then they would have asked you for the copy of the COPR and the funds etc., and you would have gone through the whole nine yards and then the stamping that you are talking about. You will know about it the next time you enter after the Immigration approval.

Hope this helps you a little.

Freddie.
