Hi ! I dont know much about the process but "politeness" is required / mandate of most jobs here in Toronto . Words like "Please" and "Thankyou" works as a charm .
Just my 2 cents .
Wish u luck in all your endeavours .

Unfortunately, that is usually not taught in school - you learn that at home.

Since you are a teacher, you must have taught students of writing correct spellings. In your post above one can see 3-4 spelling mistakes. Yes, it is always courteous to say Thank you and Please. Never hurts to anyone. :)

Anyways for your all questions go to http://www.oct.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK

You will get all your answers.

Thanks and Best of Luck

I couldnt help noticing but you mention in another post that you are CPA from India / USA. Is it in addition to your bsc / bED.

Thanking/ pleasing are of purely western, not Indian nature. In India they are filmy. They are certainly optional for Indian to Indian. Indians don’t expect or express. It is felt.

Westerners don’t point out others’ mistakes as bluntly as an Indian do.
Monkey see -monkey do, is not always perfect. We are too blunt.
You are more an Indian if you are from small towns and villages. You are most likely angrege if you are from big cities. People from small towns see a kaka/ mousi/ bhaiyya/ Behn in a stranger who don’t expect ‘ PLEASE/ THANKS’. For us, all friends of our parents and of their age are uncles / aunties .
Sachins are from Bombay. Dhonis are from small towns , but now here on the same platform.
It is very difficult to become a Dhoni than a Sachin. I saw an interview of an upcoming actor who said that his co- stars ridiculed him wearing a suite in a party.
When I first travelled by air and entered a star hotel, in my early twenties, I was puzzled how these hostesses know me. I learnt only during my return that they greet every one, plastically.
It is bad to greet unknown people ,back home . And worse in core India.

Does the below sounds familiar ????
When you are in Rome ..do like Romans ...
And still trying to figure out what politeness has to do with western / Indian culture or how and where a person have been brought up !!

Guide me ..
I will appreciate your guidance

I had not used :Please" in any of the above but the difference is clear ...
Hope I made my point clear ..
