I am a junior desi and have moved from Toronto to Calgary for last four weeks as I planned to get into oil sector. After coming here I am having second thoughts and planning to come back to Toronto.
Atpresent I have got a security job in Calgary paying an average of 9Cd per hour.I am pretty good in English and have scored 8/8 in all sections of ILVARC (Immigration Language and VocationalAssesment -Referral Centre) test in Alberta. I have also scored overall 7.5 in IELTS in India.I am primarily a sales and marketing guy with degree in Mechanical Engineering and was working for Hindustan Petroleum Corpn of India.
I now plan to get into call centre in Toronto. Could any body guide me about the scope that exists in Toronto for call centre positions and the name of few staffing agencies to whom I could ring up to find the actual position.I also speak Punjabi,Hindi and Bengali fluently.
Further given a choice where should one finally stay i.e. Calgary or Toronto in terms of various parameters.
Please guide me at this moment of predilection.

You got the right background to be in Calgary. Then why the move back to Toronto?
Duke it out in Calgary. With Petroleum industry and Mechanical Engr. background, you shouldn't have trouble penetrating O&G. Do you have other exp. besides Sales & Mktg?
In Toronto, you definitely have to start from ground zero. Calagry and O&G may give you entry at a higher level than ground zero. What are the challenges you facing?
Go to O&G Networking Events. Find out if there is a Gas Processors Suppliers Association (GPSA) chapter in Calgary? Its members are usually companies who supply products to natural gas industry. They may love you with your Petroleum, Mech. Engr and Sales & Mktg. background ;-) Focus on the suppliers for O&G sector. They may not pay you much but will help you build contacts and jump ship in 6-12 months.
Unless you are troubled financially and need to make money today, I will suggest to focus full-time on building relationships in O&G instead of doing odd jobs.
