Came across this site http://www.thebeststudent.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, these guys are offering three scholarships for a 5 year Bachelor Dental Surgery Program. A friend of mine has applied, so thought of sharing it with everyone so that other desis and students can also benefit from the opportunity.
Wanted some feedback from any dentists on the forum, as to how is the profession of dentistry, and what is the future scope. How is it as a profession for women? Can someone, who has done her BDS in the Middle East, come back and practice dentistry in Canada.
Regards
If you have a degree anywhere outside Canada then the Answer is NO.
No Dentist can practise in Canada till you get your license here in Canada.
And to get a License it is almost impossible from this year.
Canada has ruined the lives of thousands of foreign doctors for the past twenty years.
Canadian embassies tell them “Oh yes, come to Canada, we need doctors!”. Canadian immigration organizations lie and paint this picture that Canada is Utopia, because they want foreigners to come to Canada. Why? Because foreigners bring money and they after they come they do the blue collar jobs. That is exactly what Canada wants! The Canadian government wants foreign money and cheap foreign labor.
So after being deceived, these foreign doctors, pack up, and immigrate with their families (spouse, children) to Canada. They have to bring with them at least $10,000 and pay an additional $1500 to land in Canada. Canada has an immigration quota of 250,000 per year. So please do the math, 250,000 multiplied by $10,000 each equals a whopping 2.5 Billion dollars that Canada gains from immigrants every year.
However, after they arrive, Canada shuts the door in their face and tells them that their foreign credentials are not ‘good enough’ and that they need to pass a series of expensive tests and do additional unpaid training. Shame on those Canadian embassies!
This forces the foreign doctors to get minimum wage jobs like factory work, driving taxi cabs or delivering pizzas, and to try whatever they can to support themselves and their families. They have passed the Canadian exams (MCCEE, MCCQE), applied for residency positions with CaRMS year after year, yet the end result is nothing. This is the tragedy associated with immigration to Canada.

I have been saying this for a while now on this forum.
Last time I did that someone on this forum requested the thread to be deleted becuase I told the truth.
Hope now people understand and it it helps atleast 1 individual and save their carrer.
I wish there was a way to take Canada to the UN Court and file a complaint against them. This way the whole world will know what the hell they are doing. And then they will not be rated as one the best countries to immigrate to when it comes to Medical Profession.
By the way it is the same in US when it comes to Dentist.
They have a better system only if you are a Medical Doctors.
Hi people any feedback on my original question - "Wanted some feedback from any dentists on the forum, as to how is the profession of dentistry, and what is the future scope. How is it as a profession for women?".
My friend is a East Asian born and brought up in Alberta, but wants to do her education from the Middle East as her parents are moving for the next few years to a place called Ras Al Khaimah in UAE, near Dubai. And she came across this college - RAK College of Dental Sciences, who are offering these three scholarships for their Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Thats the reason for my questions. Would appreciate a feedback.

We spoke to the college counsellor on the phone and he was suggesting, that women have some psychological and time management advantages (?) which makes them better suited for dentistry, or dentistry better suited for their lifestyle.
