1/ I am a Canadian citizen and work in US on H1 B. (This is the first H1 on which I have 3 more years and then my company wants to apply for a green card) I pay my taxes in US and differential in Canada.
2/ I have a house in Toronto. (so long term goal is to move back to Canada)
3/ I want to apply for PR card for my wife ..
4/ My wife has a Indian passport with H4 stamped.
Since the current situation is so fluid in terms of jobs I am wondering what would be the procedure for a PR card for my wife..
I think applying for PR would be straightforward but once she does get the PR card how does she complete the resident status ?
Since best case scenario if I still have a stable job then we dont want a split family, ... just for keeping the Canadian PR status ..
as well as I would not like her to go back to India and I move to Canada in case of a situation on the job front ...
Or is it that I will have to bite the bullet one way or the other ... ?
Also is there a weightage to the fact that though we are US that we are paying our taxes regularly in Canada .. does that help?
Thank you in advance for your help...

===============
you may count each day that you accompanied a Canadian citizen outside Canada provided that the person you accompanied is your
spouse or common-law partner; or
parent, if you are less than 22 years of age.

Has anyone used this criteria since I guess my wife could use this criteria .. since she will be accompanying me a Canadian Citizen and tax payer in the US.
In which case she can complete the necessary 730 days in 5 years ...
Thanks again for the link ...
