I am fed-up of paying for Long distance to call the same people every time.
Anyone who is technical who can discuss the idea of global interoffice EPBX over internet, can PM me.
I am trying to come up with a design solution where no cost or little one time cost involved for setting up the interoffice EPBX in a globe model. Like India home is Ext 101, Canada home is Ext 202, UK sister home is Ext 303, US Sister home is Ext 404, In-Laws Home India is Ext 505 and Brother In-Law's home in HK is 606. all they have to do is pick up the phone an dial each other extension and boom they talk for free.
The term Global Interoffice EPBX sounds big cost...he he he end of the day its not more than approx 50CAD one time. Also the internet which is the most essential thing here is now everywhere and VOIP for the best voice quality does not need more than 128Kbps. And as far as hardware is concerned and costing of the total one time, I am trying to gather more information. It will be great if anyone who is also interested in the topic can join me.
It’s somewhat the same IDEA where http://www.magicjack.com" target="_blank"> http://www.magicjack.com is working. It’s just that Magic Jack is using the real numbers associated to your device (as it is connected at some point of time to the exchange) which in our case is not there and is all private, just like your extension in your office. End of the day it will be FREE for us to call overseas.
I need more ideas from technical people.
Inputs from me:
1) An Old system which can run Linux and connected to the Internet. Approx 30CAD.
2) Asterisk - Its a free software for VOIP EPBX http://www.asterisk.org " target="_blank"> http://www.asterisk.org
3) A normal phone connected to the system or a IP phone (I am trying to figure out how to) - Approx 20CAD.
People give me more thoughts as per your experience.
