The primary role of the Epicor Systems and Technical Analyst is to focus on the support and management of the client’s Accounting and Financials environment. The secondary role will be web applications development and provide support.
Salary : 75K+
MUST HAVE EPICOR EXPERIENCE.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accounting & Financials Systems and Technical
• Responsible for supporting and managing Epicor Enterprise ver 7.3.6 (Financial Suite) and Microsoft FRx Financial Reporting ver 6.7.
• Determining root cause of issues and applying corrective action (system, interface, process, etc.)
• Responsible for supporting and managing accounting and financial interfaces including, operational system interfaces, banking interfaces (EFT, DCH).
• Act as a single point of contact for Administration and Finance technical questions
• Work/communicate with various internal and external teams to resolve user issues
• Coordinate with Epicor Technical Support on patch management
• Work with outside consultants and application developers on customization and modifications to the existing system
• Administration of Windows Server operating systems, Crystal Reports, SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services
Web Applications
• Support existing ASP.Net, VB.Net\C#.Net & SQL Server based Web Applications
• Work developing and supporting our web applications such as the customer portal, customer statements, electronic document management, etc., with responsibilities for:
Developing and maintaining the web and databaseØ programming
Developing test scripts and procedures as well asØ documentation standards
Assist in the data manipulation and ETLØ processes to migrate data from customers and suppliers
IdentifyØ opportunities for process integration
• Provide assistance with the provisioning and maintenance of new customers and suppliers
Other
• Identify, implement and support automation integration opportunities of our business into customer and carrier businesses in order to strengthen our external relationships and reduce manual processing as much as possible
• Responsible for all portions of Software Engineering:
• Gather and analyze user requirements
• Model and analyze business process flows
• Develop, write and present project proposals and project plans
• Prioritize and evaluate projects and tasks
• Develop and maintain project schedules; facilitate workload planning and resource management; provide monthly project status reports
• Create product specifications and documentation
• Systems development and maintenance

• Backup and disaster recovery planning
• Specific products, services and technologies to be developed and supported include:
• Support for current in-house custom applications
• Develop a strategy for web-enabling existing applications to provide more deployment options, better customer support and more timely information updates
• Develop and support new products and services
• Develop new web based applications and interfaces using client-server architecture to improve client’s customer service and integration while reducing costs
• Other duties and assignments as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education and Industry Knowledge
• University Degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in systems and/or technical analyst role.
• Project management experience in analysis, solution design and implementation.
Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word).
• Extensive applied knowledge of Epicor Financial Suite, Microsoft FRx and Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005 including SSIS, SSRS), Access, Excel and Crystal Reports
• Strong applied knowledge of Microsoft .NET development, XML, VB.Net and C#.Net (using Visual Studio 2008), DotNetNuke/Sharepoint, JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
• Microsoft Project and scripting skills are assets.

It is quite possible that a CD maynot have EPICOR Experience or if some one has, they might have applied directly / refered someone and not even acknowledged you (being a desi).
On a related note, a while back I was offering sure job placment for a person who just knows / has been educated in Informatica and no one responded. This only reinforces the fact that people with IT qulaifications still stand to get sure and well paying jobs in Canada, even in thee days of recession. The other being accountancy and Finance.
